Helping Haiti   -  January 13, 2010 

 

 

As I finished my day yesterday, still pleased to have had a sale on www.Art-On-Demand.com over the weekend but frustrated with the slow adoption of this new art delivery and display concept, I was thinking what a difficult time I’m having getting this business off the ground, then I heard the news of the devastating earthquake that destroyed large parts of Haiti.

 

What a smack in the head that was….Me thinking I have it difficult….How wrong could I be compared to the situation the people of Haiti now face on top of the poverty and disease they already suffer. 

 

I tossed around ideas in my mind throughout the evening as to how I could help directly. Everything from volunteering to go to Haiti to help with the recovery effort; to petitioning cruise lines to send their ships as temporary facilities… then it dawned on me…. that one thing I can do is provide help in the form of financial assistance since nothing is free in life and the support needed to help these folks is going to cost a bundle.

 

Next, I determined the amount I could contribute personally would be a drop in the bucket but I could contribute a percentage of the sales revenue generated from my business to the effort. This way a large number of people could contribute small amounts and enjoy a work of art that part of the proceeds helped someone in need.   In the end, as a group we can provide enough to have a real impact.

 

Therefore, effective today through June 30, 2010, I pledge to donate 10% of each sale made on www.Art-On-Demand.com to the earthquake recovery efforts in Haiti. 

 

Whether you are an Artist or an Art lover a portion of any money you spend on www.Art-On-Demand.com will go to helping people truly in need.  Please help us help the people of Haiti.
